In The Storm
So where do I go when the sky is leaden
And my prayers ricochet off the ceiling?
How do I lift my eyes in the midst of the storm
And see a clear path forward?
When the crushing pressure in my heart leaves me gasping for breath from all the unanswered questions?
The whirling noise troubles my mind
Where do I go with this agony of waiting, waiting, always waiting?
How do I hold on?
How do I prevent the creeping, crawling, cynicism of a cold bleak winter encircling my heart?
Do You hear? Do You see the tears?
When the cloud obscures the sun?
And the storm is all around?
Are You still here?
I know I stand by Faith and not by sight.
I have to trust. (Breathe) I have to trust. (Breathe) I have to trust. (Breathe)
TRUST
In the goodness of who You are
You are working all things together for my good.
I believe.
So, I bow in surrender.
Not pretending to understand Your ways.
But knowing Your love.
Your grace will carry me through
On the the other side I will look back and see
You are only ever love
And from my heart must flow unconditional praise, then the sun breaks through with hope once more
