Polruan, Cornwall

Polruan, Cornwall

Polruan a town at the mouth of the River Fowey in Cornwall, sits opposite the town of Fowey which gave its name to the river. On the hill cliff above the town the remains of an ancient church wall can still be seen and this is on the site of an original Celtic Christian community. It's thought that a lamp was lit here to guide ships into the safe, deep harbour of the river.
