Milltown is a tiny hamlet tucked away down hardly used lanes which lead to the River Fowey. A Celtic cross was discovered here being used as a bridge to cross the tiny stream. It now stands in the grounds of Tregaminion Chapel near Menabilly. The lane leading to Milltown also links two other Celtic sites, Lantyan Woods and St Sampson's Church. It's possible there were three monks living within this area at the same time.

As can be seen from the photograph, the river is wide at this point and gives beautiful views up towards Lostwithiel's nature reserve and down towards Fowey.
