St Winnow, Cornwall

St Winnow, Cornwall

St Winnow is a Celtic Christian site set in an idyllic situation on the banks of the tidal River Fowey. The current church stands on the original site and overlooks the wide expanse of the estuary across to Lantyan woods. St Sampson's church on the far bank which is just out of sight, is where Samson also had an oratory. It was not unusual for monks to live a few miles apart, so they could have fellowship together.
