St Kew is recognised as one of King Brychan's children who was trained up by St Gastyn and went out as a missionary to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. She came to Cornwall and established a community at the hamlet still named after her, St Kew. The church is well worth visiting, on the site of her prayer oratory, and there is a sweet presence of God readily accessible on this site.
